Born in 1939, I had an interest in drawing from an early age (film stars and horses). This interest was sporadically kept alive during ensuing years in the industrial financial field while working in South Africa, England, Moçambique and Angola.
Finally, in 2001, I decided to leave the corporate life and concentrate fully on art.
Over the years explored many art museums and saw major art exhibitions including Singer Sargent, Sorolla, Hopper and Van Gogh, amongst others.
My interest in literary, musical, historical and philosophical matters was widened by extensive travels through southern Africa, Morocco, Egypt, South America, Europe and the Middle East (Turkey, Syria and Jordan); also through traversing China, northern Pakistan, northern India, Malaysia and Thailand in the East.
Artistic talent and skills were honed by tutors such as Bill Ainslie, Erik Laubser, Ryno Swart, Clare Menck, Julia Teale and Rene Snyman, as well as internationally acclaimed Max Ginsberg of New York, USA.
